As a sign of supreme iconography, magazine covers and Tonight Show appearances have been king for quite awhile.

But perhaps you haven't really made it until the famous Madame Tussaud Wax Museum has preserved you for all eternity (or at least until they melt you down).

Above, clay head molds of U.S. presidential candidates Senator John McCain and Senator Barack Obama are on display at Madame Tussauds Studios in London, England. A studio team has been working on wax figures of both candidates, to be certain that the new U.S. President is ready to take up office at Madame Tussauds London come inauguration day in January.

Below, the freshly minted figure of a wax Carrie Underwood was unveiled yesterday.

Other figures among the hundreds on display at the museum include Angelina Jolie, Jean Paul Gautier, Tyra Banks, Miley Cyrus, Elle McPherson, and Julia Roberts.
