Rachael Ray checks out Cake from Petunia Pickle Bottom

Midnight_blackberry_ss_344It's detailed and gorgeous - just the thing that a well known chef would love.  And of course she did.

The Cake Society Satchel in Midnight Blackberry was a big hit when it appeared on the Rachael Ray Show last week.  Our client Petunia Pickle Bottom's founder DeNai Jones worked long and hard to create a collection that would be an exquisite accent for moms.

The Cake bag was part of a segment about getting ready for baby featuring Los Angeles' own Baby Planners Ellie Miller and Melissa Gould.

Both Rachael and the audience loved the bag for it's rich brocade fabric, intricate detail, and fantastic ability to morph from hobo to handbag to backpack.  The great built in changing station and wipie case was a big hit too.

Illume suggests 65 Hours of Love with seductive new offering.

65hoursoflovewebIt has a fragrance that is the true blend of male and female sensuality.  And with a name like 65 Hours of Love, you know this new candle from Illume has true staying power.

The aroma is an alluring blend of sweet subtle vanilla and irresistible musk.

An all natural soy and beeswax blend of wax is hand poured into a generous tinted glass bowl, and fixed with an optimized cotton braided wick.

The gorgeous red floral metallic box makes this a fabulous Valentine’s pick.  65 Hours of Love will sell for about $36 and is due out January 2008.

65 Hours of Love joins Illume’s bestselling His & Her’s Collection, which is a dynamic group of candles, perfectly matched to create a romantic atmosphere.

Illume Candles has long been a star favorite with celebrity sweethearts such as Will Smith, Madonna, Courteney Cox Arquette, and Nicky Hilton picking up their favorite scents for their homes.

a Vogue idea - fall fruit kick

VoguemagazineWhen thumbing feverishly through the November Vogue Magazine to find their drool worthy feature on resort wear, be sure to stop at page 298.

In a feature about seductively tart beauty products, our client Pharmacopia's Citrus Bath Salts stand proud.

Other fabulous picks on the page include my favorite, Burt's Bees Lemon Butter Cuticle Cream (a wonder), and MOR Bath Foam in Cumquat

Delicious!

a River runs through it....

JnjBe sure to catch the article in the November issue of Town & Country about Giving thanks with Style.

Featured in the story are my pals Joe Marini and John Simoudis of River in Essex, Connecticut. (page 110)

The two give tips on holiday entertaining, from flower arranging to dessert presentation.

They also recommend using LocalHarvest.org, a website that lists small regional farms around the country, to find great ingredients.

When in Essex, don't miss their store, River, located near the water front on Main Street.  (51 Main, Essex, CT).

Filled with garden inspired accessories and home furnishings, it's one of the best retail stores in the Lower Connecticut River Valley.

style on the set

Aj_2Be sure to pop over to People.com's site to check out their StyleWatch special slideshow of style on the set.  There's more than 29 shots of various stars in costume, such as the one with Angelina Jolie at left.

A lot  of the images show the Sex and the City girls in costume on the set of their new film (costume should be meant literally in this case - like as in Halloween).  And while no one is a bigger fan of Carrie Bradshaw than me, some of those outfits, I truly truly hope, are meant for dream sequences.  Sorry Carrie, the flower bigger than your head on the white gold trimmed dress is a Glamour don't.  And the turqoise feathers in your hair with the uber poofey wedding dress should have given you hives again (see the episode when she's engaged to Aiden). This is more Bride of Frankenstein, than bride of Big.

hopelessly romantic, Victoria returns

Jewlery_2The pages are covered with stunningly photographed rooms and gardens - that's how I remember the old Victoria Magazine, which closed its doors a few years back.

The new Victoria Magazine is no different, with page after page of remarkably romantic concepts illustrated in gorgeous detail.

And just as you're about to assume that it's too sentimental for your high fallootin', super citified tastes, you'll stumble across something that's just too beautiful to pass up.

Take for example the droolworthy designs of Tamara Berg, pictured here.  Available at ParisHotelBoutique.com you'll have a very tough time picking out your favorite from these one of a kind gems.

a Droolicious Orbit

GreeneditionpramBe sure to check out Babble.com's droolicious review of our client Orbit Baby's fantastic Green Edition Pram, (due out later this year).

The new Green Edition Orbit Pram will have non-treated organic wool and highly recycleable components, to name just a few of the eco-friendly features.

Orbit Baby is very dedicated to an eco-friendly company policy.  Read about the steps they've taken to reduce, reuse, recycle.

All Orbit products are designed to reduce the need for redundent gear, thereby reducing the amount of consumption and the inevitable landfill waste.

One thing to note, while the Babble reviewers were put off by the Orbit Infant System pricetag, all things considered, buying an Orbit system is far more cost effective than individual, redundent pieces.  Orbit has an extensive price comparison sheet that should bring the price into focus.

Cameo Clutch and delicious new fabrics round out PPB Cake Collection.

Webrreadycameo_2

They're layered with scrumptious features and topped with intricate details - no wonder the Cake Collection from Petunia Pickle Bottom is a continuous cause for mommies to spontaneously drool.

This fall, get ready to crave something new from this creator of all things baby-chic. On the menu is the all new Cake Cameo Clutch - a true fusion of function and fancy, and three new fabric flavors.

The Cake Cameo Clutch, a new level of stylish sophistication, is a mini-changing station that will dazzle with its remarkable set of features.

With the modern mother as its muse, the Cameo Clutch exemplifies "grace under pressure" moving from the rigors of daytime with tots to the reprieves of evening out-without skipping a beat. Compact, capable and capriciously covetable, versatility was never so elegant. Unique features include a diaper/wipes pocket; ointment/ cream/pacifier pockets; fold-out, snap-out removable wipe able changing pad, an attached inner zippered coin purse (in matching cut velvet fabric), and a wristlet strap.

The Cake Cameo Clutch measures 8 x 12 x 5.5.
Also new for the Cake Collection by Petunia, 3 new fabric styles. These include:

PpbcameoswatchHuckleberry Swirl Cake (left) - a turquoise/cream interwoven vine motif European cut velvet with coordinating tweed.  Available in: Society Satchel; Cameo Clutch.

Midnight Blackberry Cake - (shown above) black/cream renaissance inspired european cut velvet with coordinating tweed. Available in: Society Satchel; Cameo Clutch.

Raspberry Cream Cake - (right) raspberry/cream vining rose motif europeaPpbcameoswatch2n cut velvet with coordinating tweed. Available in: Society Satchel; Cameo Clutch.

Society Satchels will now be available in a total of 6 fabric styles.

Cameo Clutches will be available in a total of 3 fabric styles.

Forbes predicts little growth for journalists in coming years...

JournalsHere's an interesting (and very sad) prediction from our friends over at Forbes.

Journalists (you know, those good old fashioned gum snapping reporters with a pencil behind one ear and a writing pad in hand at all times) are said to be on the endangered species list of great jobs to aspire to in years to come.  This according to the US Labor Department, journalism will see just 5% growth, with pay decreasing incrementally.

If you believe the forecast, I suppose paparazzi style jobs will increase, as actual investigative reporting and researching declines.

Also on the decline according to the Forbes article are Radio Announcer jobs, jewelers, and Federal Government Employees (this according to the government!).  Not surprisingly travel agents, farmers, fishermen, insurance agents, and computer programmers.

Halle goes on record - I want an Orbit!

Halleberry2

OK - there're few women on the planet more glamorous than Halle Berry - that's a fact that's simply irrefutable.

So when the New York Daily News' Ben Widdicombe reported earlier today that Halle was publicly coveting our client Orbit Baby's stroller - it really made our day.

Halle, who was screening her new movie “Things We Lost in the Fire”, is quoted as saying, "I'm sure I'm going to have to manage [being a working mom] a year from now, I'm starting to investigate [buying things for the baby] and do my homework and research...There's this Orbit baby stroller-slash-car seat that's pretty inventive and I think is really gorgeous.”

Thanks Halle!  I’m sure you’ll look as stunning strolling with the Orbit as you do sauntering down the red carpet (as you're pictured here).

Find: L'Occitane Olive Paste

LoccWhile it sounds like an ingredient in pasta sauce, L'Occitane's Olive Paste is a real find for those of us with dry or over-processed hair.

This remarkable mask is applied right after shampooing, in the shower.  Magic ingredients include Olive fruit extract (as the name implies) and Shea Butter.

Massage into scalp and directly onto those moisture deprived ends of hair. Then, leave it on for about 5 minutes in the shower and let the misty warmth help it soak in.  You can either rinse off, or for more drastic cases of dryness, wrap hair in a towel and let it stay on for the evening.

The results are well conditioned, but not limp, hair.  A steal at $27 for about 8 ounces.  Pick it up at your local retailer, or buy it online at the L'Occitane store

We've got a live one!!

Anna_frielIf you missed the Wednesday night premiere of Pushing Daisies on ABC, set your Tivo for the repeat tonight at 8pm.

The show’s part macabre, part nursery rhyme style is certain to cull a strong following.

The casting really works, the writing is edgy, and the production design will definitely keep you interested!

Gorgeous Anna Friel (31), pictured left, is certain to be the breakout star of this production, and Lee Pace and hilarious Chi McBride will definitely see their stars rise as well.
