that's one Lucky blog....

RoomtherapyI love Lucky Magazine - it's as useful and on-trend as it's sister publication Domino - so when the mag launched it's new online site, and accompanying blogs, I was super enthused.

I'm also very excited that they chose to feature our client Illume Candles new online boutique in the first handful of posts - here's a link to the site - be sure to read all about the staff's love of Illume candles and about Illume's new RoomTherapy Collection (shown here).

Cookie's Daily Find - PPB Scout Bag

ChangingkitWe were super excited yesterday when Cookie Magazine's (the hip mom's monthly parenting bible) online blog picked our client Petunia Pickle Bottom's new Scout Bag as their Daily Find.

We liked their idea that while the Scout Bag is designed for men, it works great for fashion minded women as well.  Great styling too!

it's going to be a star studded post season

Jlo_arodSo, I've been meaning to write an essay for months (well actually years, I'm a champion procrastinator sometimes) about why girls (women) should love baseball.

Here's my reason #1 at left - A-Rod, shown here with J-Lo; reason #2 is Derek Jeter.

I have many more reasons on my list that someday I'll explain, but I think Alyssa Milano has put a lot of ink into the subject on her clever blog *touch* 'em all - she's also designed a line of MLB fan wear for gals (yeah, don't have to buy those kid's sizes anymore) and is now the correspondent for TBS's Hot Corner on MLB.com - great!

And today, People.com has a great photo gallery of celebs at the games, just in time to rev us up for post season.

So, I'll wax on more eloquently another day about the finer points of the game, the romantic and somewhat wild history, but I had to post this image without delay!

This is berry, berry good...

Lm_lipWhen fall comes we think of rich tones like pumpkin, cranberry, and mossy green.  We also think Mulberry is great, with its deep red-plum hue, it’s the perfect shade for fall.  Now we know there are several types and colors of Mulberry, but for the sake of color, let’s think about the red variety.  To incorporate this gorgeous color, and fruit into your fall lineup, we’ve assembled a few items to keep in mind:

Laura Mercier Lip Stain in Mulberry ($20) - offers the natural translucence of a stain, but with the sexy sheen of a gloss.

Zensation Brightening Mask ($100) – This remarkable product new to the US from Switzerland relies on the brightening and healing power of Seabuckthorn, Mulberry, Watercress, and Strawberry Begonia as its main ingredients.

Boscia Jujube Rejuvenist Whipped Body Creme ($30) An amazing body moisturizing that contains Vitamin-rich Jujube Fruit, Mulberry and Peony extracts.

Mulberry_teaMulberry Tea is known to help inhibit the absorption of sugars by the body, thereby making it a remarkable product for diabetics and sugar sensitive people.   This one from Culinary Teas is $1.59 per oz.

And no cup of tea can be more charming than when served with honey and a freshly baked mulberry muffin.  AllRecipes.com has a great recipe you should try

Gorgeous Goran and family in Orbit

Goran_vinsjic_150723_cbbWhen ER premieres its 30th season this week (OK so maybe it hasn't been on the air that long but it's been a while since Clooney wandered the halls of that Chicago County General Hospital) keep your eyes peeled for Goran Visnic.

Goran has certainly had a rosier family life than his character, Dr. Luka Kovac, as evidenced by the photo here taken earlier this month in Los Angeles.

Our friends over at celebritybabies.com have full images of the appearance of the happy new family as they stroll with their fabulous Orbit Infant System.

Goran and wife Ivana probably enjoy the way the car seat moves easily from auto to stroller base thanks to the ingenious Orbit SmartHub Locking System.  When they get home, they can attach the same seat to the Orbit Rocker Base and baby Tin can sleep uninterrupted for hours.

Rock on Goran!

coffee, tea and diddy

CoffeeIt should be no secret that I love Starbucks – it’s just my thing.   Latte Grande with a slurp of pumpkin syrup and I’m happy as a ten-year-old with a bag full of candy bars!  I also love the iPod/iTunes –convenient, eco friendly and great for those of us who thrive on instant gratification.

So next week when Starbucks unveils its Song of the Day promotion, I’ll be first in line.

According to the official press release, from October 2 to November 7, more than 10,000 U.S. Starbucks locations will dole out "Song of the Day" cards redeemable on Apple's iTunes store for a complimentary song hand-selected by the good folks at Starbucks.  I hope they pick a wide range of both obscure and well known artists and genres so it gives us a great way to experience music we may not otherwise hear.

Starbucks will give away 1.5 million downloads a day during this time period and customers will have until the end of the year to redeem the song on iTunes.

What a treat just in time for Halloween!

stars light up with Gardenia candles from Illume

Paris_hiltonIt's no secret that for the most part, celebs get what they want when they want it.

So we thought it would be really interesting to take a poll of our client Illume's products to find out which fragrance from their extensive collection was the most popular with the stars.

Turns out Gardenia is the strong winner - in particular Gardenia in filled glass ($20) - which is favored by celebrities that include Paris Hilton, Jennifer Lopez, Mary J. Blige, Will Smith, Madonna, and Courteney Cox Arquette.

Must be the cool white soy wax, combined with the delicate yet distinct exotic island smell that they enjoy.

So if you don't have the Malibu estate, you can at least get a little of the star studded atmosphere of Hollywood.

Sam, Birdman of Aberdeen, whatever his name, that's one sneaky seagull....

SeagullWhen my brother emailed me about this crazy bird in Scotland I thought it might be some sort of urban legend gone wild.

So I searched YouTube, and you guessed it, the videos of the Tangy Dorito eating bird were everywhere.  Here is my favorite, which includes jazzy soundtrack and paparazzi style interview: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iLeHgabGqHY

Here's the story:

A seagull in Scotland has developed the habit of stealing chips from a neighborhood shop. The seagull waits until the shopkeeper isn't looking, and then walks into the store and grabs a snack-size bag of cheese Doritos. Once outside, the bag gets ripped open and shared by other birds. The seagull's shoplifting started early this month when he first swooped into the store in Aberdeen, Scotland, and helped himself to a bag of chips. Since then, he's become a regular. He always takes the same type of chips. Customers have begun paying for the seagull's stolen bags of chips because they think it's so funny.

Star Siting: Naomi Watts and Liev Schreiber carry their new bundle in Orbit.

Naomi_wattsWhat couple is cooler that Naomi and Liev?  Non that we can think of - so when the pair took their new addition out for errands the other day they naturally grabbed their Orbit Car seat, which doubles as a convenient baby carrier.  The seat easily twists into the Orbit SmartHub system docked in their car, and then just as easily twists out for errands like this one.  They could also easily dock the seat onto the stroller base and go for a stroll.

We think it's interesting that in so many of the shots we see of celebrity couples and their Orbits, the man seems to be pushing or toting the little one.  Since the product was designed by (male) IDEO alums Joseph Hei and Bryan White (et al) specifically to appeal aesthetically and functionally to both men and women, we think the results are obvious.

Orbit star siting of the day - a stroll through Santa Monica for Bridget and baby.

Bmoynahan090407_19Gorgeous Bridget Moynahan and her mom took her new little one out in Santa Monica the other day.  Baby John reclined happily in our client Orbit Baby's new Mocha Bassinet which when added to the OIS stroller base makes this very chic pram.

When the photogs get too close, Bridget can easily use the built in Orbit Paparazzi shield to protect her baby from too many inquiring minds (and lenses).

Bridget will be happy to know that a Green Edition of this pram is on its way for Fall 2007.  The environmentally friendly Orbit Green Bassinet will feature organic non-dyed wool, recyclable materials used throughout, and a nice donation to the Nature Conservancy, to name just a few of the great aspects of the product.

Salma Hayek gets Cake and Orbit at her baby shower.

Salmahayek_headhsot2If you missed it, Access Hollywood did a lovely little package on Salma Hayek's baby shower last week.

Salma chose the gorgeous Cake Cameo Clutch from Petunia Pickle Bottom (a brand new item) and the ever popular Cake Society Satchel.

Her little one will ride in the super lux Orbit Infant System from Orbit Baby - a fabulous unit that lets moms take baby from car to stroller and beyond with ease.
